KINGPIN Aero Zeppelin Centerpin Float Reel (5.0″) *CHOOSE COLOR*
This is not just a larger version of the original Zeppelin. This is Zeppelin Version ll, which is bigger and better in a number of ways. The reel is vented on another plain making it not only look great but lighter than the original Zeppelin. This reel has a larger diameter of 1/4″ but almost an ounce lighter, when compared to the original Zeppelin. Kingpin also partially vented the backplate and added some unique engraving. This reel has a side lever ratchet system versus the knob on the original Zeppelin.
Kingpin uses ‘L series grade’ aluminum which is true Aerospace grade. Its stronger and purer, which enables Kingpin to machine more away, while at the same time, not sacrificing strength. The Zeppelin Aero machined down to its cutting edge design is only possible with true Aerospace Grade Aluminum. Only the best will do.
Pay attention to how the spokes of the spool concave in the middle. This is the same on every plane giving the reel a completely bridged design which makes it 5x stronger than anything else available
Check out the slot-less handle axles that hold the hand polished handles in place. These are made in house along with everything else on the reel. You will notice that a lot of the reels on the market use “off the shelf” general purpose screws, Kingpin does not!
The slots Kingpin mills into the inside of the drum where the lines lays really emphasize the precision milling. Making them only 3mm in width is much harder and more time consuming. Most reels have no slots but the ones that do are not like this!
All Kingpin backplates are Defense Standard hard anodized. Reels are always laid on their back so it makes sense to make them scratch resistant, tougher than steel. Its twice the cost but five times better. Kingpin is the only manufacturer of centerpins that applies this process as standard.
