The Kingfisher is a custom, hand-made centerpin reel designed and manufactured in British Columbia by John Milner. These fantastic reels are meticulously hand crafted on manual lathes and milling machines. With a three position check lever, the Kingfisher is made form solid bar stock 6061 aluminum, C360 hard brass, and 316 stainless steel. John provides a tough durable finish to his reels by using a process called “bronzing” with his anodizing method.

This particular model has a 5” diameter and is equipped with ABEC 7 bearings. We asked John to make this reel with custom colors (Pewter on Pewter), and also install a custom clicker knob to the reel. This reel features John’s new template for his big hole porting pattern. The four medium sized holes in the second row, next to the large holes have been removed from the pattern making this reel slightly heavier at 10.9 oz. These reels can be fished with either right or left hand, however the clicker knob position depends on what hand is being used for retrieval. For this reel, if you are fishing left hand retrieve the clicker knob will be pointing towards the tip of your rod. If you are fishing right hand retrieve the clicker knob will be pointing towards the butt of your rod. Please see below for more information on this reel.
